We publish under one byline on purpose. You will not find invented names here, no stock photo standing in for a writer who does not exist, and no biography describing experience nobody actually has. If a page says the team wrote it, the team wrote it.
Why we do not use named writers
A lot of home decor writing is published under a personal name that quietly implies qualifications nobody can check. A professional stylist with ten years of experience. A designer who has done three hundred kitchens. Those claims may well be true, but on a small site they are usually impossible for a reader to verify, and inventing them would make us look more authoritative than we are.
So we make a smaller claim instead. This is an independent editorial site, and here are the standards we hold our guides to. You can judge each argument on its own, and you can hold us to the process below.
How we research a guide
- We start from the constraint, not the product category. A renter cannot drill. The room is nine by eleven. The ceiling is nine feet.
- We work out what actually holds, by reading installation instructions and specifications and looking for the failure modes people report.
- We check what is being asked for already, so we publish where there is a real gap rather than adding another listicle.
- Where a decision depends on a number, we give the number and show the working.
- Where our knowledge is thin, or the answer genuinely changes from room to room, we say so rather than sounding certain.
What we check and what we do not
This is the most useful part of the page, so we will be specific.
We do check measurements and do the arithmetic for you. Rug sizing, curtain drop, gallery wall spacing. We check whether a method actually reverses and what it does to the surface it sticks to. We check manufacturer specifications, including whether a product described as removable really is, and whether the items we name are still being sold.
We do not test products in a rented home. This site has no physical space, and we do not run product lab tests. When a guide describes how something behaves in use, that comes from specifications, documentation, and long-established practice. Not from us trying it.
We cannot see your walls, floors, or ceilings. Whether a fix will hold depends on what is underneath, which only you can check. Treat our measurements as a starting point and try anything adhesive on a spot nobody will notice first.
And we cannot promise results. A drop that works at a nine-foot ceiling will not necessarily work at ten.
Corrections
We get things wrong. When a reader tells us a guide does not match their room, we fix it and note what changed. If you spot something off, tell us, and include the room details if you can. That is usually what explains the gap.
