What this means when you read a guide
Some pages here contain affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, Amazon may pay us a commission. Your price is the same whether you use our link or not, because the fee comes out of Amazon’s side of the deal.
Wherever we suggest a specific product, we say it is an affiliate link at the point of the suggestion, not just in a footer somewhere.
What does not change
- Nobody pays us to feature a product. No advertiser or manufacturer has paid to have something included or left out.
- We do not soften our view of something because of what it pays.
- Where a product has a real drawback, we say so. Commission does not suppress that.
- We do not write a guide in order to sell a particular item. If a category has nothing good in it, we say that rather than recommending the least bad option.
Prices and availability
Prices, stock and product details on Amazon change constantly and we have no control over them. Check the current listing before you buy. We do not print prices in our guides. Where price affects a recommendation we describe the range or the tier instead, because a specific figure goes stale fast.
How we choose what to cover
We start from a problem a renter actually has, not from a product we want to place. A guide exists because the question keeps coming up and an honest answer would help. Product suggestions come last, and only when something genuinely solves the problem described.
Our full editorial standards, including what we check and what we do not, are on the One Way Decor Editorial Team page.
